10 Oz. Unsweetened Almond Milk
1 Tbsp. White Chocolate Chips
1 Oz. Amaretto or Almond syrup
1) Heat the milk and tablespoon of white chocolate chips in a small pot over medium-high heat. Bring to a simmer but do not boil.
2) Pour the Amaretto (almond liqueur) or almond syrup into a mug. Top with the heated white chocolate and almond milk. Top with as many mini marshmallows as you like. Swirl on whipped cream and finish with a flourish of sprinkles. Enjoy.
NOTES: Everyone loves hot chocolate, don’t they? But once you try my almond white hot chocolate, there may be no turning back. The mix of hot almond milk, white chocolate and amaretto can’t be beat. Don’t worry, if you don’t want the alcohol or are serving kids, just use almond syrup. Not only is this drink festive for the holidays, but it is just so delish.
Sugar-Free Substitutions for Ingredients
I have a lot of friends that are “sugar-free” or are trying to cut back on their sugar intake. No worries. Use the unsweetened almond milk, along with a sugar free syrup like Torani Sugar Free Almond Syrup . You can also use Lily’s sugar free white chocolate chips. Use a sugar free whipped topping or they now sell sugar free aerosol whipped cream too. Better yet, make your own whipped cream and use a sugar substitute like Lakanto. You have options to limit the sugar in the drink.
To make this drink couldn’t be easier. Just heat the milk and white chocolate chips over a medium-high heat. Be sure to stir to melt the chips into the milk. Don’t let it boil. Just bring it to a simmer.
If you like this drink (and I know you will), try some of my other favorite warm drinks.
