Chocolate, Espresso and Cream Shake
This drink is elegant and sophisticated both in presentation and in taste. A deep, rich coffee flavor is emphasized with the addition of espresso dark balsamic vinegar from Patricia and Paul. This Kahlua Espresso Martini should be in your arsenal of cocktail hour recipes. Your guests are just going to love it. The key to this drink is to make sure your glass and the drink are ice cold.
Put the martini glass in the freeze for at least 1/2 hour to get ice cold. To make the drink, fill a shaker with ice cubes. Add all the liquids and stir or shake for at least 6o seconds to get really cold. Strain the liquid into that chilled glass and serve immediately. It is delicious. If you like this drink be sure to try my Hazelnut Caramel Iced Coffee too. It’s a mocktail but you can boost it with a shot of hazelnut liqueur.
If you haven’t worked with Kahlua before, it is a coffee flavored liqueur. It is delicious straight up and on the rocks and works great drizzled over ice cream too. When you mix this liqueur with the cold brew and the tablespoon of espresso dark balsamic, you are getting a coffee forward cocktail that will rock your world. You are mixing it with vodka so this is a potent sip. It could almost be dessert…almost. While there are other coffee liqueurs, I almost always use Kahlua. For the cold brew, you can buy small cans of cold brew right in the coffee aisle at the grocery store. I just keep them in the refrigerator before making this drink…again, to be sure everything is ice cold.
You definitely could serve this over ice if that is your preference. No matter how you serve it, you are going to love it.
