ingredients

4 Cups Ice Tea

2 Cups Lemonade

2 Lemons, cut into lemon wheels

Fresh mint leaves

Premium vodka (optional – 1 1/2 Oz. per drink)

DIRECTIONS

1. Mix the iced tea and lemonade in a large pitcher with one sliced lemon. Chill for at least an hour and up to overnight.

2. Add 3-4 Cups of ice to the pitcher and garnish with mint leaves. Pour into tall glasses filled with ice, garnish with another lemon wheel and more mint and serve with a straw.

3. If you are serving with alcohol, add the vodka to the glass with the ice and top with your tea/lemonade mix. Enjoy!

NOTE: To me, this drink screams summer!  I drink a ton of iced tea in the summer.  I’ll brew my own or buy the big jugs of Lipton’s Diet sweetened lemon ice tea and keep it in the fridge.  I love lemonade too and do the same thing.  Florida Natural has a sugar free lemonade that is artifically sweetened.  Use the two and have a zero calorie mocktail.

Obviously, you can make your own, sweeten or not and decide if you are going to add alcohol.  (Does it get any more versatile than this?)  To keep this recipe super easy, purchase your favorite brands of iced tea and lemonade and mix.  Have pitchers of this next to a chilled bottle of premium vodka and let your guests do the rest.

This really is the perfect summer mocktail but it is also a fabulous cocktail…you and your guests can decide.

I recommend chilling the mix without ice so you don’t dilute it.  You can add ice to the pitcher when you are ready to serve OR just serve it chilled over a tall glass of ice.

If you are making a full pitcher of the spiked drink, simply add the vodka right to the mix, chill and serve over glasses of ice with your garnishes.  This is an easy way to entertain… you don’t have to keep jumping up to mix cocktails.  I served this at my Father’s Day BBQ and it was a hit.
