OK, no trip to New Orleans is complete without a visit to Pat O’Brien’s famous pub for his even more famous New Orlean’s Style Hurricane cocktail. You can buy his mix at the pub and online. But, if you want to make your own, here is the classic recipe using fresh ingredients. Add those fabulous hurricane glasses, garnishes and go wild with an umbrella, and you have a fun cocktail!
You can easily make this in pitchers for large groups (just double, triple, etc.). Make a cup of the simple syrup (one cup sugar and one cup water) the day before your party and store in the fridge. Serve with my New Orleans style Tilapia and Dirty Rice for an evening of great food and lots of laughs!
