However, I digress. Creamsicles were one of my favorite treats. For those of you that have never had the pleasure, let me tell you more.

What is a creamsicle?

I’m happy to answer. It is a vanilla ice cream pop coated in an orange flavored sherbet so the outside was cool and slightly ice-like and the inside was smooth and creamy vanilla. The perfect novelty ice cream.

If you have kids on hand, don’t leave them out of the fun. Just omit the alcohol and add extra orange juice (actually, it is pretty good for non-drinkers too). Give this one a try… It is your childhood in a glass that gives you something to smile about! (wink, wink)

Toppings and Garnishes:

  • Sugar-free whipped cream
  • Regular whipped cream
  • Orange slices
  • Orange zest
  • Vanilla wafers for crunch
  • Sliced almonds if you go thr almond milk route

Juice Options:

  • Fresh-squeezed orange juice is best (one orange provides enough juice for two or three creamsicles)
  • Pulp-free bottled orange juice as substitute

Consistency Control:

  • For a thicker drink: Use more ice cream and less juice
  • For a thinner consistency: Add more orange juice or use half-and-half
  • For frozen texture: Blend with ice cubes (use 1 cup of ice when using half-and-half instead of ice cream)

Make it Fizzy: Top with orange soda for a bubbly orange creamsicle variation.

Batch Making: This recipe scales up easily for parties – just multiply ingredients accordingly.

While this recipe uses vodka, you could substitute with orange creamsicle moonshine if available, though adjust quantities for proof differences. I’ve seen recipes for orange creamsicle moonshine online but I haven’t tried them. So, experiment at your own risk! lol
