Ingredients
 
 

  • 1 1/2 Cups Dry non-fat milk
  • 1/4 Cup Plus 2 Tbsp. Powdered Sugar
  • 1/8 Cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Hershey’s chocolate powder
  • 1/3 Cup Valhrona dark chocolate powder
  • 1/2 Cup Milk Chocolate chips
  • 1/8 Tsp. Kosher Salt
  • 1/2 Tbsp. Ground coffee

WHIPPED CREAM

  • 1 Cup Heavy cream
  • 2 Tbsp. Confectioner’s sugar
  • 1/2 Tsp. Pure Vanilla extract

OPTIONAL ADD INS:

  • 1 Tablespoon of white chocolate chips
  • 1 Oz. of your favorite liqueur favorites include: Frangelico, Amaretto, Baileys, Kailua, Mozart Chocolate Cream, and Peppermint Schnapps)
  • Pepper sticks, candy canes or spoons, chocolate spoons, sprinkles

Instructions
 

  • Mix all ingredients in a large bowl. Store in a large jar or covered container.
  • Make the whipped cream. Chill a metal bowl and the beaters from a hand mixer in the refrigerator for 15 minutes. Then, pour the heavy cream in the bowl and begin beating. Add the vanilla and confectioner’s sugar one tablespoon at a time. Beat until thick, soft peaks form.

TO PREPARE AND SERVE:

  • Make as much hot cocoa as you need. Mix 1/3 cup of the hot chocolate mix per one cup of hot milk. Stir to combine and melt chocolate chips into the mix.
  • If using liqueur or white chocolate chips, add those to your mug now. Pour the hot chocolate into the mug or mugs and top with marshmallows and whipped cream. If using, serve with a candy cane.
