I use January for tackling all my organizational projects like cleaning out the pantry, cabinets, kitchen draws and fridge. It always feels like a new opportunity to check off some projects on my list and get everything in place for a great year. De-cluttering definitely does wonders for my mood and allows my creativity to flow. I also alleviates a lot of stress. I work from home, and let’s face it, sometimes staying on top of things gets away from me! Things start piling up. I forget I have three jars of poultry seasoning, and I’m out of panko! I can’t find that mini-heart-shaped springform pan for that Valentine’s Day recipe I’m working on, so I buy another one.

It winds up taking me an hour to do what should take a 1/2 hour because I can’t find things. Ever happen to you? Well, I am taking a lot of help this month and getting everything back in order. I started with the fridge and gave it a good scrubbing. Then I got these great organizer bins that are clear so I can see what’s inside. Loaded those up with all my extra fruits and veggies.

Next, I got a soda/juice can holder and got that in order. It is under $15 so I don’t know what I was waiting for🤷‍♀️ I also added Lazy Susans to the fridge to help me manage all the condiments, jars and sauces. Game changer!

Next up, my pantry and kitchen closets. I decided to finally, put all my dried goods in clear containers with labels. This way, I’ll know how much I have left (so much better than shaking boxes and opening them up to check or worse, grabbing a box mid-recipe that is almost empty!!! I added my cereals, grains, pasta and beans, and what a difference! I also added a bunch of wire baskets to keep things together on shelves and organize a lot of the smaller cans and jars.

The spice cabinet (s) is always a challenge and I’m always adding to my collection so I have my spices in multiples places. I have all my spices in this great wooden spice box and everything is labeled and organized. But I also keep bulk spices and condiments in an over the door pantry organizer.

I also needed to get my pots and pan organized and settled on this wall rack with a shelf and hanging hooks. I also finally upgraded to a magnetic knife holder for the wall. This is considered the most sanitary way of storing knives and I’ve been meaning to add one to my kitchen for awhile now.

I also purchased the All-Clad Caddy with 4-piece kitchen tool set. Love it! I have so many All-Clad pots and skillets in my kitchen that this made a great addition and really freed up some drawer space.

Speaking of drawers, I bought a new flatware organizer (I like to swap those out every couple of years) and I added a bag storage unit for another drawer. This has to be the best buy yet…I eliminated a ton of boxes and got all those baggies under control!

The last thing I tackled this month was my kitchen sink area. Under my sink tends to be a minefield of cleaning supplies. I started by putting down rubber mats and then added several pull out organizers to hold my supplies. It just made everything so neat and tidy plus I could get to everything without struggling.

I finished the sink area with a new sink caddy and I’m just feeling so great about what I’ve accomplished. One room down, now on to my office🙆‍♀️
