NOTES:  This is a simple and delicious use of tea and mint!  The cocktail is elegant and not sweet.  You can also serve this over ice for a perfect summer cocktail.

I use a basic black, breakfast tea bag to make this (I grew up on Lipton so that is my brand of choice.)  I let the mint and tea bags steep together until the liquid is completely cooled before straining into a pitcher.  It is really important to chill that mint tea for several hours so get it really cold if you are serving as shown.

One note about this drink, it is great cold or hot.  I make this in the summer as a cocktail but in the winter it is the perfect hot toddy.  I add the hot mint tea, bourbon and a teaspoon of honey to my mug and sit back and savor my quiet moment.  I enjoy adding the honey to sweeten it but that is completely optional.

Like hot drinks in the fall or winter?  Try my Bourbon, Maple & Pumpkin Coffee or a real, traditional Irish Coffee to warm you up.  Enjoy!
